Since we launched, our referral programme has been hugely successful for us.

It’s been a year since we last refreshed the FreeAgent website, and a lot has changed in that time, so the time was right for another update.

In this month’s release we’ve implemented a slew of feature requests, as well as introducing some new views on project data and profitability.

You can now produce foreign-currency estimates and send foreign-currency invoices.

After a suitably refreshing and snowy break, we’re kicking off the
new year with lots of good news.

The standard rate of VAT changes from 15% back to 17.5% on 1st January 2010. Here’s what that’ll mean for you and your business.

Support for multi-currency invoicing has been one of the most common, and loudest, feature requests from our users over the past year or so.

Clients eh? Can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em. Can’t even leave threatening chalk scrawls on the pavement outside their house. Apparently. But what you can now do is automate the process of gently reminding them that invoices are due or overdue.

Our current team has made FreeAgent what it is today by working long and hard over the past two years. In the last year we’ve grown from a core team of 3 working remotely, to 5 of us working from a new office, and we’re poised to move into an even bigger one later this week.

settings page which may affect you if you’re using a 3rd-party application which integrates with

We’ve seen a 40% increase in both new signups and new subscribers each month since December, and we’re starting to see the results of our work to get friendly with even more accounting partners.

In ‘Pouilly-Fuissé’ we’ve updated FreeAgent to handle the recent UK VAT rate changes which are effective as of today, and made some improvements to Invoice Emailing.

In yesterday’s Pre-Budget Report, seen as historic by many, UK Chancellor Alastair Darling announced widespread changes to many areas of the public finances.

You can now use FreeAgent to track Bills from your Suppliers as well as your own Invoices to Clients.

Beta Developers’ API

We’re finally exposing the first part of our beta Application Programming Interface with this release. If you don’t know what that means, relax.

Some of our beta testers send lots of invoices, so the list of due and overdue ones on the overview page can be very long.

This we we introduce our first support for uploading CSV statements from Cater Allen and Abbey Business, plus some small changes to Invoice Items and PAYE/NI calculations…

Here’s what we’ve been up to this week…

The latest update to FreeAgent – ‘Wensleydale’ – fixes some bugs as well as adding some features our beta testers have requested in the past few weeks, including support for Director Loan Accounts and Credit Notes.

This week’s updates see improvements to Invoices, Timeslips and Mileage VAT Calcs.

Alas, the cheese puns have also started and are forecast to continue for some time.

Thanks loads to all of you for your feedback so far. More bug squishing has been going on, and we’re really starting to get a feel for what we need to get done before we launch publicly.
